Sandra Giet: Lead Pastor
I was born in Manhattan, NY, but raised in Manhattan Beach, CA. Growing up in a sleepy beach town was a wonderful childhood. However, church was never a thing. I never felt a need for God.
God has a way of breaking into our lives in very unexpected ways. I was living my dream, it was my first quarter at UCLA, when I was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease, Lupus. I was struck down physically, emotionally and spiritually.
My eyes were open to God in a way I could have never imagined. I can only describe it as a “Damascus Road" experience. It’s interesting when you look back on your life, you discover some of the most painful times in your life, were the most transformational.
I experienced a need I never knew was so deep. In reality, I had always felt a shame that was deep and need for approval from others, which led me to do many regretful things. And then Jesus poured love, joy and purpose into my life I never knew existed.
When I discovered Christ, it’s not exaggeration to say “everything changed”. God restored my health and gave me a new vision for my future. I finished UCLA and then went to Fuller Seminary.
I’ve experienced the transforming power of Christ in my own life and witnessed it in countless others. I’m excited to see what God does in your life!
