OUR STORY
The dream of Mid-City Vineyard Church began in the kitchen of Aarti Sequeria one spring evening in 2017. While at their Life Group, Aarti casually mentioned that there were no churches in the neighborhood. The idea of a neighborhood in LA with no churches pierced Pastor Sandra’s heart. She began praying and researching the area. She already knew that LA was one of the least churched cities in the country, but soon discovered Mid-City was one of the least churched neighborhoods in the city.
God was putting something into motion. At a Vineyard Leaders conference that summer, she connected with the ARC Church Planting organization and felt a call to partner with them in planting a new church. She began sharing the vision with her friends and one by one they joined her in being part of a team to plant a new church in Mid-City LA.
After months of planning, praying, securing a meeting location and building a team, Mid-City Vineyard Church was officially launched in January 2019. What began with a launch team of 45 people soon became a congregation of over 100 adults and children. Now, over seven years after launching, Mid-City Vineyard Church has become a place where people experience God and true belonging. Over 40 people made decisions to follow Christ in the first year alone… and hundreds since!
Week after week, we stand in awe, amazed at how God activates in new and exciting ways. It’s been a joy to see lives being healed and restored. People are finding hope in Jesus!
